NOWADAYS we hear in COVID cases black fungus as opportunistic infection secondary to steroids……….MY query is that we are treating with steroids to many pts like NEPHROTIC,,asthma,,skin disorders,,connective tissue,leukemia pts but not getting black fungus…….IS THERE ANY genetic association between COVID and BLACK FUNGUS ? Q 2… ALSO TELL in pediatric COVID all opportunistic infections possible so we get Pre prepared for third COVID wave ?

GOOD AFTERNOON, ,, Dr Arora …..MY quiery is that at ER parents brought a 11yrs child with high grade fever and persistent vomiting, pain abdomen….ON ASKING DETAILS and examination fits into PUO,,,,So sent LAB samples while starting treatment,,,NOT affodable for cutures…….Positive lab findings r leucopenia,,,,and WIDAL titres O- 1:320 ,,,H -1:160…….in duration of 3 days clinical improvement in form of resolution of fever,,,vomit ,,pain abdomen subside,,increase appetite…….SO patients start asking discharge on request by giving home excuses…..I repeated CBC ….s/o normalized TLC…….one of the pt relative is RMP….and start asking about WIDAL report……WHEN explained by me that WIDAL is serological test and not required to repeat so early…..IF SO we repeat after 4 wks…..BUT they r not understanding ……HOW TO COUNSEL PARENTS ?
